Brenda Orffer, CAE

Brenda Orffer, CAE, is the chief executive officer of the American Neurological Association. Brenda oversees the management, operations, and strategic direction of the ANA. Brenda received a bachelor's degree in Theology from Kent Christian College and spent 28 years in association work prior to joining the ANA in October of 2022. Beginning as a receptionist/administrative assistant, she advanced in association work to the role of Executive Vice President over a span of 28 years at the Washington Health Care Association. Brenda also served in public office as both a city council member and mayor pro tempore, then mayor from 2015 to 2021. Brenda achieved the prestigious Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) in 2018. She has 30 years of experience in association work and management and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this leadership role for the ANA. 

Nadine Goldberg, PhD, MS

Nadine Goldberg, PhD, MS, is the Chief Program Officer of the American Neurological Association. Dr. Goldberg is responsible for developing, communicating, and sustaining all ANA program initiatives and generating new opportunities for the association. She brings over 17 years of non-profit and public heath programming experience and developed initiatives which were funded by external partners including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the DC Department f Health, the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD). Dr. Goldberg earned her PhD in Sociology with focus on Medical and Urban Sociology from Howard University and received her master of Science degree in Criminology from the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore.

Diana Hitchings

Diana Hitchings serves as the Controller for the American Neurological Association (ANA) where she plays a pivotal role in managing the budget and financial operations, closely collaborating with the ANA Board of Directors. With over 30 years of experience in non-profit association work, Diana brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her position at the ANA, contributing to the organization's financial stability and strategic decision-making. Outside of her professional duties, Diana enjoys many outdoor activities, and has recently become an amateur pickleball player. 

Loretta Neely, MBA, MA
Meetings Education Manager

Loretta Neely serves as the Meetings Education Manager for the American Neurological Association. In this role, she oversees the creation and execution of project plans for all ANA meetings. Loretta is responsible for managing and developing the programmatic content of these meetings and collaborating closely with various committees that contribute to the design of ANA meetings. In 2013, Loretta earned her Master of Business Administration in Leadership and Change Management from Concordia University Chicago. Subsequently, in 2016, she also obtained her Master of Arts in Healthcare Administration from the same university. Loretta started her career in association management as a Program Coordinator at the American College of Surgeons. Since then, she has successfully accomplished, expanded, and organized numerous educational meetings.

Jennifer Summers
Meetings Manager

Jennifer Summers serves as the Meetings Manager of the American Neurological Association. Jennifer brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in association and meetings management as well as a background in state government with an emphasis on compliance. She is responsible for all ANA programs and meeting logistics, as well as sponsorship and exhibit sales. Ms. Summers is a graduate of the Evergreen State College with a Bachelor of Arts in social services. She resides in Washington State and enjoys spending time with her family and childhood friends, shooting hoops, working out, and creating cakes for special occasions.

Jen Hurley, CHCP, CPHQ
Education and Accreditation Manager

Jen Hurley, CHCP, CPHQ, is the ANA's Education and Accreditation Manager. In this role, she oversees the ANA's ACCME-accredited education program. Jen brings more than 20 years of experience managing accredited healthcare education programs to the ANA. She holds the Certified Healthcare CPD Professional (CHCP) credential from the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions and is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) through the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ).
